We aim to make HUNCH a festival that is accessible to people of all abilities and backgrounds to be a part of as an artist, volunteer, workshop participant, audience and community member. As a young festival we are prioritizing accessibility in order to build the inclusive environment we hope to achieve. We are working to improve accessibility in all areas of our festival and that begins with having an open line of communication. If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions please do not hesitate to contact us.

Granville Island

Granville Island is accessible by public transit though no busses serve the Island directly. The distance from the closest bus stops to the Island may be a challenge for some people so patrons using wheelchairs or with other mobility concerns may wish to arrive to the Island by car or by services such as HandyDart. Granville Island parking is entirely pay parking from 11 am to 6 pm, 7 days a week. Parking is free between 6 pm to 11 am. There are accessibility parking spots available throughout the Island. Patrons with mobility concerns can park within a close distance to the venue if possible, however, due to the busy nature of the Island, it is recommended that people who may need to park close to the venue, allow for extra time to ensure they can get to the venue safely and comfortably.

Red Gate Revue Stage

The Revue Stage is wheelchair accessible. There are no steps or ramps leading into the theatre. However, only the first row of seating is wheelchair accessible. Some accessible parking spots are available near this venue. There are two gender neutral washrooms, each with one wheelchair accessible stall.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing & Low Vision Accessibility

More information will be released upon the curation of the festival; its shows, workshops and events. We aim to make the selected shows and adjacent events, as accessible as possible for people with varied vision and auditory abilities. Please check back for more details in the New Year.

Application Accessibility

We encourage people of all abilities and backgrounds to apply to HUNCH Festival. If completing the application form is a barrier to you, please do not hesitate to reach out to us for clarification or assistance. If the application fee is a significant financial barrier restricting you from applying to the festival, please be in touch with us.
